Facilitator: Kim Meninger
Course Title:  Conquer Impostor Syndrome to Advance Your Career

Do you hesitate to speak up because you worry that you’ll sound foolish?

Do you question whether you have what it takes to successfully perform your role?

Do you worry that the people around you are so much better qualified than you are?

If so, you likely struggle with impostor syndrome, a term for the feelings of self-doubt and inadequacy many professionals face, particularly as we advance our careers. Although approximately 70% of the population will experience impostor syndrome at some point in their lives, most who struggle with this issue do so in silence, depriving them of the resources and support needed to effectively manage it.

In this deep-dive workshop, you will:

  • Understand the effects of impostor syndrome on individuals, teams, and organizations
  • Examine common triggers of impostor syndrome, including why you’re more likely to experience impostor syndrome in certain fields and industries
  • Learn actionable strategies to build your confidence and manage self-doubt so that you can effectively achieve your professional goals.

Session Date: December 7, 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm (ET)
Facilitator: Maria Morukian, MA, PCC

Creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable community in our institutions benefits us socially, emotionally, and financially. It also establishes a sense of belonging, trust, and dedication for individuals throughout an organization. Fostering DEI starts with a deeper knowledge of self, followed by skills to engage in meaningful dialogue with others around emotionally fraught topics.

In this workshop, you will explore:

  • the multidimensionality of identity,
  • identify and manage your own biases and blind spots,
  • model behaviors that foster inclusion and equity, and
  • learn how to respond effectively to exclusionary or insensitive behaviors.
