Panel discussion on “standing up for the other.”

In an age where religious prejudice and persecution persist, we have learned well how to stand up for ourselves.   Yet, clearly this does not go far enough in addressing the problem of intolerance;  it is time to recognize the imperative to stand up for the other.

Our panel of scholars, authors, and activists came together to discuss their critical and courageous work in charting this course.

• Mehnaz Afridi, Assistant Professor of Religion at Manhattan College, Director of the Holocaust, Genocide and Interfaith Education Center.
• Todd Green, Associate Professor of Religion at Luther College, Author of The Fear of Islam.
• Andrea Varadi, Board member Sisterhood of Salaam-Shalom.
