Eric Thomas T’22 Lands Faculty Position at General Theological Seminary

A tenure track position in the Master of Divinity program

March 2023 – Drew Theological School PhD alum, the Rev. Dr. Eric A. Thomas T’22, has been appointed as a full-time assistant professor at General Theological Seminary (GTS) in New York City.

The tenure track position will focus on GTS’ hybrid Master of Divinity program.

Thomas is currently serving as a Louisville Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow at GTS and was a Forum for Theological Exploration Dissertation and Doctoral Fellow from 2016 to 2020. He is also a senior pastor at Siloam Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn. 

Thomas earned a PhD in Bible and Cultures from Drew.

His dissertation, “Queer of Color Biblical Criticism: Race, Sexuality and the New Testament,” is the first full-length work to combine intersectionally African American biblical scholarship and LGBTQ biblical scholarship.
