New students who are unable to travel to the U.S. because of visa issues can begin their studies online from their home country. Drew is offering a set of introductory courses fully online suitable for new students, but a full complement of the curriculum will not be available online. If you are able to obtain the F-1 visa during the semester and want to come to campus to complete the semester, we will work with you to assist with that transition. Please contact ISSS@drew.edu and fyadvising@drew.edu to further discuss your situation.
If you are unable to secure a visa appointment and have received an I-20, your SEVIS record will be deferred. The SEVIS number will remain the same – you do not have to pay the SEVIS fee again and F-1 visas that were issued for the original I-20 continue to be valid.
