Photos: Drew Composers Work with Professional Musicians

Writing music for cello and harp.

December 2018 – Professional musicians performed pieces created by Drew University students at this year’s Composers Concert.

Professor Trevor Weston tasked each student in his Techniques of 20th and 21st Century Composition class with creating a short work for a cello and harp duet by applying what they learned throughout the semester. “I encouraged them to explore using a technique that allowed them to express themselves,” Weston said.

The compositions were performed by cellist Amy Butler and harpist Merynda Adams in The Concert Hall. Here’s a look at the performance.
