Dear Drew community,
I am pleased to share more information regarding our virtual Commencement ceremony this Saturday, May 9 at 10:30 a.m. EDT. With pride and excitement, we will celebrate and honor the achievements of the graduates from the College of Liberal Arts, Caspersen School of Graduate Studies, and Theological School and enthusiastically invite all members of the Class of 2020 and their families, friends, classmates, faculty, and staff to join us LIVE by visiting drew.edu/commencement.
We’ve planned a virtual program full of true Drew spirit, including faculty, trustee and alumni speakers, as well as parting words from three Class of 2020 students representing each school. On that day, graduates will also have a few watch party options, as well as virtual receptions following the ceremony.
The Class of 2020 should check inboxes and Drew Today for more information from Student Activities regarding the ceremony and receptions, watch parties, corresponding virtual programs and festivities, including the Class of 2020 Toast. Be sure to follow @drewuniversity on Instagram for updates and challenges throughout the week.
For a full list of awards and honors received by Drew graduates this year, visit this page at our Commencement site, and check back often—the pages will be updated as grades and coursework are finalized. In the event you aren’t able to participate live on Saturday—or if you, family members, or friends want to revisit—this website will also include a video of the ceremony as a past event .
As a reminder to the Class of 2020, your degrees will be conferred and your diplomas will be mailed to the address provided on the graduation application. Diplomas should arrive to you within four weeks after the conferral date of May 22, 2020 (rescheduled, due to an adjustment in the academic calendar because of DVT). The Apply to Graduate page on Drew University’s website has instructions on how to view a submitted application to graduate to confirm the address you provided.
I look forward to celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2020 with you all on Saturday. And keep your calendars marked for the deferred in-person Commencement, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2020 and to be confirmed by June 1 (our “drop dead” date for managing all of the logistics).
P.S. Be on the lookout for a small surprise arriving in graduates’ home mailboxes this week!
