Drew Participates in U.S.-Mexico Summit

Focus is on higher ed exchange opportunities.

May 2019 – Drew University President MaryAnn Baenninger participated in a U.S.-Mexico Higher Education Summit that attracted leaders from 36 colleges in the U.S. and Mexico.

Participants focused on the importance of international exchange—such as in research projects, internships and development programs—with the goal of expanding opportunities for students and faculty in both countries.

The four-day gathering, which took place in Chicago, was hosted by the Council for Independent Colleges in collaboration with the Mexican Federation of Private Higher Education Institutions and Santander Universidades and Universia.

The CIC represents more than 680 colleges and universities, including Drew.

Beyond the summit, Baenninger serves as chair of the Executive Committee of the CIC’s Board of Directors. She was elected to that role last year.
