Preparation Is Important.
Most of the tasks associated with on-line room selection are done prior to making your selection. You should monitor the rooms that are available beforehand.
—
Visit the link below to view floor plans of each of the halls. Although the floor plans are not drawn to scale they will give you an idea of the location of the rooms. You do not have to select your room during your designated time but can select at any time after while room selection is open. Times will be posted.
Priority Numbers and Housing Application
Priority (Lottery) numbers will be sent to all current residents on March 15th. If you did not receive a priority number, are currently commuting or on a leave and you wish to participate, please contact Residence Life at reslife@drew.edu.
Once you are sure that you want to apply for housing for the fall semester you must activate your priority number by completing the Application/Housing Agreement. This must be done in order to be assigned a date and time to select a room and to be included in a Roommate Group.
HOUSING AGREEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
- Go to the Housing Portal
- Enter your name and password. Click “Login”
- Select “Application”, at top of screen
- Select the application, CLA Returning Undergraduate Student (Fall 2020). Read over the Housing Agreement. You must agree to these terms to proceed.Type you name into the Electronic Signature and press “Continue”.
- Answer all personal preference questions. Click on “Continue”
- You will select your meal plan preference for next fall at this time.
- You have now completed the Returning Student application.
Forming a Roommate Group
Roommate Groups are used to select a room, suite or quad where the student with the best lottery number is able to “pull” others into the unit. These units must be filled completely. You are able to set up roommate groups when you, and the person that you want to be roommates with, have completed the Housing Application and, are registered with 12 or more credits for the fall semester.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Only students who have a priority (lottery) number, registered for the Fall semester and have completed their Housing Application may be added to a roommate group.
- Roommate requests must be mutual.
- Students must confirm or decline a roommate request.
- When you view your roommate group, the system will tell you if your group is MATCHED or UNMATCHED.
- You will only see room options that work for your group size.
- If you are selecting a room in the lottery process, you may change your group at any time before the selection is made. You should prepare for several different options. For example, you may want a six-person suite in McLendon but none are available so you will have to remove two people from your group in order to see four-person suites in McLendon. The two students you remove from the group will have to select spaces at their designated times.
SELECTING YOUR ROOMMATE GROUP
- Go to the Housing Portal and enter your ID along with your password. When prompted select to “Login to MyHousing”
- Select “Room Selection” at top of screen then choose “Roommate/Suitemate.”
- Select appropriate term “Fall 2021″ and press “Submit.”
- To select a roommate, search for them via name or e-mail address and press “Begin Search”
- Please note: If your desired roommate has not completed their on-line application, and/or are not registered for the fall semester with 12 or more credits you will not be able to find them in the search or add them to your group.
- Your requested roommate(s) will have to confirm your request. Once all of your group’s requests are confirmed, your group is matched and you will be able to select together in the same room sign-up process or by using your groups best lottery number.
- If your group is not matched, you will not be able to select to live together when your time is activated in the lottery process. All members must request each other. If there are no rooms, suites or apartments available that work for your group, you may disband your group and reconfigure based on available spaces.
- You can log-on as often as you like to change your roommate group, see available rooms and view floor plans.
On-Line Room Selection
In mid-April, if you have a priority number and you have completed your Housing Application/Agreement, you will be sent your date and time to select your room.
If you did not get the desired hall and/or room, you may complete a single room waitlist application which is available in the Housing Portal.
