College Raptor says Drew deserves more attention
September 2021 – Drew University has been named New Jersey’s “Hidden Gem” school by College Raptor.
Drew has retained its spot as the state’s diamond in the rough for the third consecutive year.
The publication factors in metrics like graduation rate, campus diversity, selectivity, first-year retention rate, median SAT/ACT scores, and student-to-faculty ratio when creating the selective list of schools with fewer than 7,000 undergraduate students.
Certainly fueling Drew’s top-in-the-state status are science research programs like RISE, which pairs undergraduate students with retired industry professionals in the lab, and a robust catalog of—and high student acceptance rates in—dual degree programs with schools like Columbia, Duke, NYU, and Washington University in St. Louis.
Drew is also getting creative by adapting to the needs of students transitioning to college. The school recently announced a mid-semester enrollment program, Fall Forward, that allows first-time college students to attend Drew part-time, earn six credits, and gain skills and confidence to take a successful first step into college life.
