Drew University Announces Andrew Weissmann as Next Drew Forum Speaker

Former federal prosecutor, legal analyst, and law professor to speak on March 27

March 2024 – Drew University will welcome Andrew Weissmann for an in-person Drew Forum event. The event, sponsored by the Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation, will be held Wednesday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Drew University Concert Hall.

Weissmann is a former federal prosecutor and has served as FBI General Counsel, Chief of the Fraud section of the Department of Justice and as a prosecutor in Robert S. Mueller’s Special Counsel’s Office. He is currently a professor of practice at New York University where he serves as Co-Director of the Reiss Center on Law and Security, teaching courses in national security and criminal procedure.

Weissmann recently co-authored “The Trump Indictments: The Historic Charging Documents with Commentary” with NYU law professor and constitutional scholar Melissa Murray. His recent memoir “Where Law Ends: Inside the Mueller Investigation” was a New York Times best-seller.

Weissmann is a legal analyst for NBC and MSNBC, and co-hosts the popular podcast “Prosecuting Donald Trump.” He is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and Just Security, where he is also a board member.

Earlier in his career, Weissmann served as director of the Enron Task Force and as a federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York, where he served as the chief of the Criminal Division and prosecuted members of New York’s Colombo, Gambino and Genovese crime families.
