Drew University Class of 2024 Outcomes: Ange Wunderle C’24

Pursuing a Masters of Teaching at Boston University

May 2024 – As Drew University’s 2024 Commencement nears, we’re taking a look at where some of our outstanding soon-to-be-grads are headed.

Ange Wunderle, a mathematics major and triple minor in French, dance, and teaching, has been a Baldwin Honor Scholar, Action Scholar, and member of the Rangerettes Dance Team; performed with Drew’s Dance Department; helped lead Volunteer Without Borders; and worked with Admissions, the Center for Academic Excellence, and Center for Civic Engagement. At the 2024 CLA Awards, Wunderle received the Winifred Baldwin Fellowship, Novartis Award in Science – Mathematics, and Rumi Prize in Choreography.

Where she’s headed: Wunderle will continue her education at Boston University, pursuing a masters in teaching, focusing on secondary education mathematics.

On her time at Drew: “Throughout my time at Drew, I was able to explore all of my interests and am extremely grateful for the support I got from every department on campus. I have seen that support culminate in my final weeks at Drew as I finish up my honors thesis, which explores the connections between math and dance, while specifically looking at the benefits movement can have in the classroom. Without the supportive environment and welcoming community that lies in every corner at Drew, I would not have been able to merge my interests, explore the things I love, and complete this thesis.

“A huge thank you goes out to [John H. Evans Professor and Chair of Mathematics and Computer Science and Chair of Business] Dr. Sarah Abramowitz for advising me over the past four years, [Assistant Professor of Dance] Kimani Fowlin for encouraging dance in all areas at Drew, the team at the Center for Civic Engagement for supporting every decision during my senior year, [Professor and Director of Teacher Education] Dr. Kristen Turner for the guidance on my thesis, and [Professor of Mathematics] Dr. Steve Surace for teaching almost every math class I took (seven of 11 I think!). The support from my professors and friends in every aspect of my life has shaped my experience at Drew and I could not be more grateful!”
