Arts Administration: Performing Arts
The Arts Administration: Performing Arts minor helps students learn to collaborate through an interdisciplinary approach to the business of the performing arts. The arts world is highly collaborative; our program produces successful arts managers who can creatively problem solve within this environment. Students hear diverse perspectives from faculty and work alongside professional arts managers through internships. This robust minor is the perfect complement to a major in theatre arts, music, communications and media, or even business, and is essential for the student planning a career in arts management.
Theater Arts Major
All the world’s a stage at Drew, where the journey from student performer to professional artist involves meticulous mentorship and support, creative expression, critical thinking, and personal development.
Applied Performance Minor
The Dance Minor strives to create well-rounded dancers and choreographers who are effective collaborators, literate in the study of dance and able to critically analyze dance and movement through research and performance. We develop artists who can recognize the many cultural and social influences that help to inform and shape dance today and can integrate these ideas into the creation of dance.
Musical Theater Minor
The Musical Theatre Minor is an interdisciplinary program incorporating the study of acting, dance, movement, vocal arts, performance history, and related musical subjects. The program distinctively offers students the opportunity to create original musicals as well as to participate in immersive experiences.
