Drew moved up 26 spots from 2022
September 2023 – Drew University has made another huge leap during college rankings season.
Washington Monthly has launched Drew to 73rd in the country among liberal arts colleges, up from 99th in 2022.
Drew was the highest ranked New Jersey school by more than 100 spots.
Washington Monthly aims to issue rankings that apply to the majority of college students rather than “rewarding schools for their prestige, wealth, and exclusivity,” according to their methodology.
Drew received particularly high marks in Washington Monthly‘s service ranking, which weighs community service projects, voter engagement, and other civic efforts, as well as a number of social mobility rankings measuring the enrollment, performance, and outcomes of Pell-eligible students.
This news comes on the heels of a similar jump in this month’s U.S. News & World Report rankings. After U.S. News revamped their methodology to put increased weight on student outcomes, Drew made one of the biggest improvements in the country, entering the publication’s top 100 liberal arts schools.
As with Washington Monthly, U.S. News gave Drew high marks—top 10 to be exact—for social mobility based on enrollment and graduation rates of Pell-eligible students.
