Drew University Partners with Westchester Community College

Increases Community College Honors Program roster to seven

August 2021 – Drew University has added Westchester Community College to its list of Community College Honors Program partners.

Westchester, whose campus in New York’s Westchester County sits about 50 miles from Drew, joins the ranks of Bard Early College, Bergen Community College, Brookdale Community College, County College of Morris, Raritan Valley Community College, and Sussex County Community College as fellow partner institutions.

The Drew University Community College Honors Program allows top students at partner schools to seamlessly transfer to Drew at an affordable, scholarship-supported cost.

“This partnership is a win-win for both schools,” said Drew University President Tom Schwarz. “Drew will be infused with more terrific learners, and Westchester students will receive a world-class education at a four-year institution.”

“WCC is dedicated to providing pathways for every student to achieve their academic and career goals,” said Dr. Belinda S. Miles, President of Westchester Community College. “These honors students will be a proud addition to the Drew University community, as they have been at WCC.”

Westchester students who have completed at least two semesters in the school’s honors program and earned an Associate’s degree with a minimum 3.50 GPA will be eligible to take advantage of the agreement.

In addition to academics, the partnership provides a unique opportunity for civic-minded students.

“We are particularly excited about this partnership’s civic aspect, which allows WCC Davis Scholars to join the Drew Action Scholars program and make an impact on our community, locally and globally,” said Schwarz.

“Adding to the world’s good is something we stress at Drew and we’re happy to welcome more civically engaged students to the program.”
