National recognition for Laura Hoffmeister Fegraus C’02.

November 2018 – Drew University alum Laura Hoffmeister Fegraus, a medical group executive and national advocate for health care reform, was named an Up and Comer by Modern Healthcare magazine.
After Drew, Fegraus attended Harvard University’s School of Public Health, where she earned a masters of science, health policy and management.
Fegraus C’02 is among just 15 executives under the age of 40 who were recognized for making significant contributions in health administration, management and policy.
Since 2016, Fegraus has been vice president of external affairs, communications and brand for The Permanente Federation—the largest consortium of private, multidisciplinary, physician-led practices in the country. She’s also executive director of the Council of Accountable Physician Practices, where the goal is to streamline health care delivery to ensure good outcomes for patients.
Previously, Fegraus worked on Medicare reforms for the federal government and served as a Presidential Management Fellow on the health staff of the Senate Finance Committee, where she participated in the drafting of provisions for Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
As a behavioral sciences major at Drew, Fegraus was introduced to evidence-based research and critical thinking skills that have served her well. “At Drew, I really learned to become a writer and to speak in public,” she said. “I’ve used that every step of the way to be more effective at my job.”
