Princeton Review: Drew Remains a Best Value College

The University in The Forest makes list for second consecutive year

February 2020 – Drew University has earned a spot on The Princeton Review’s Best Value Colleges list for 2020.

This marks back-to-back years that Drew has been named as one of the 200 schools selected for having the best returns on investment to students.

“The schools we name as our Best Value Colleges for 2020 comprise only seven percent of the nation’s four-year colleges,” said Robert Franek C’93, The Princeton Review’s editor-in-chief, in a press release.

Drew is one of only five schools in New Jersey to make the list that includes schools like Bucknell, Georgetown, Skidmore and Penn.

The Princeton Review’s selection process includes weighing 40 different data points including metrics for academics, affordability, graduation rates and post-graduation success. Data for these metrics are based on a combination of institutional and student surveys.

In the company’s profile of Drew, The Princeton Review editors praised the “resources they provide to help students succeed”—resources built into the school’s undergraduate experience, called Launch, and guaranteed for every student.

“If we look for them, they are there,” said one Drew student surveyed.

"(The) focus on faculty mentorship stems from the school's mission to cultivate the student as a whole person." The Princeton Review's Drew University profile.

Also earning mentions are the “amazing” professors who “are more than willing to talk…for a VERY long time outside of class” to help students, and the diverse student body made up of “people from so many walks of life.”

“There are always people who you can go to when you need anything,” said another student surveyed.

In 2019, The Princeton Review named Drew to their The Best 385 Colleges and Guide to Green Colleges lists, as well as in the nation’s top 10 for inclusivity and theater.
