Welcome to the Fall 2023 Semester, 8/28/23

To the extended Drew community,

Today begins another academic year at Drew University.

The start of this school year is both a moment of excitement and a reminder to us all of why we chose Drew.

The start of the academic year signifies a great deal. Students continue on their paths toward discovering and exploring their passions. Faculty guide students through their academic lives through teaching and mentoring. Staff create opportunities to bring learning experiences outside the classroom. Alumni remember the meaningful lessons learned, connections made, and friendships formed during their time at Drew.

I myself identify most closely with Drew’s record-breaking first-year and transfer undergraduate class and all of our new graduate students. Each of us made the decision to come to Drew months ago. I hope that all of you soon recognize what a wonderful choice you made in coming to Drew, just as I have. Together, I am confident that we will find that all the amazing things we heard about Drew are true (just ask The Princeton Review). We will be part of a community dedicated to cultivating the whole person, tackling issues with rigorous, independent, and imaginative thought, and adding to the world’s good. I am so proud and honored to be part of this caring, inspiring extended community, and I hope you are as well.

Today, whether you are sitting in your first or twenty-first college course, teaching a group of eager learners, working to enhance the Drew experience for all, or taking this message as an opportunity to reflect on how Drew impacted your life and career, it is my privilege to welcome you to the fall 2023 semester.

Sincerely,

Hilary L. Link
