As a club advisor at Drew University, I play an active role in supporting student organizations and fostering a vibrant campus community. I oversee club budgets, helping student leaders manage their finances responsibly and ensuring expenditures align with University policies. I also manage the University’s online PATH pages, keeping club information and event promotions accessible and up-to-date. Part of my role involves facilitating leadership training for student leaders, providing mentorship, and helping them develop skills in event planning, teamwork, and problem-solving. I also contribute to student activities programming, helping to plan and support events that are inclusive and engaging for the campus community. In addition, I serve as an on-call staff member for residential life, offering support and guidance during after-hours emergencies. My work is all about empowering students, building community, and creating opportunities for meaningful engagement at Drew.

Drew has truly helped me come out of my shell in ways I never expected. Getting involved on campus and stepping into leadership roles has not only strengthened my communication and networking skills but has also introduced me to some of the most incredible people. As a Black girl at a predominantly white institution, finding spaces where I feel seen and valued has been so important, and being a student leader has allowed me to help create those spaces for others too. Drew has encouraged me to step up, use my voice, and embrace the power of community. The support I’ve found here, from faculty to fellow student leaders, has shaped me into a more confident and empowered version of myself, reminding me that true growth happens when you take that first step outside your comfort zone.
