#62 in country, #38 in outcomes
September 2025 – Washington Monthly has continued to heap praise on Drew University.
The publication ranked Drew 62nd in the country in its recently-released 2025 Liberal Arts Colleges Rankings. Drew is the only New Jersey school among the top 100 schools.
Washington Monthly also placed Drew 38rd in their outcomes category—part of their Best Bang for the Buck list—which ranks colleges based on the academic and financial outcomes of their graduates.
Drew was also 76th in the country in affordability, which weighs the net price of attending a given school and the debt graduates leave with.
These rankings come on the heels of similar value-based recognition by The Princeton Review, which included Drew on its Best Value Colleges list and The Best 391 Colleges list in the last few months.
For the last 20 years, Washington Monthly has compiled their rankings by measuring how schools contribute to the public good, focusing on access, affordability, outcomes, and promoting public service, according to their methodology.
In addition to the outcomes and affordability categories, Drew was deemed particularly strong in individual metrics like graduation Pell graduation gap (26), graduation rate performance (28), earnings performance (36), and service (58).
