November 2022 – Drew University has been named to The Princeton Review’s selective Guide to Green Colleges: 2023 list.
The list, which includes fewer than 20 percent of the schools in the country, is populated with “schools with strong commitments to the environment in their campus policies, programs, and practices,” according to The Princeton Review.
Schools made the list if they scored 80 or higher on the publication’s Green Rating metric, which includes more than 25 data points and scores schools from 60 to 99.
The Green Rating “provides a comprehensive measure of a school’s performance as an environmentally aware and prepared institution.”
According to The Princeton Review’s Green Rating methodology, the metric weighs:
Other data points include whether or not a school offers environmental studies degrees and programs; provides local, organic, and environmentally friendly food options; has environmentally-friendly transportation programs; and has a campus sustainability committee.
Earlier this year, The Princeton Review included Drew on its Best Colleges list, and gave Drew top 25 marks in College Theater Productions (10th) and Lots of Race/Class Interaction (21st) categories. It also named Drew as a Best Value School on a list that included only seven percent of schools in the country. Drew remains among the publication’s list of 50 Colleges That Create Futures.
