Fiske: Drew Among ‘Best and Most Interesting’ Colleges

Guide cites hands-on learning experiences, campus life, proximity to N.Y.C.

July 2018 – Drew University again made Fiske’s list of the “best and most interesting” colleges in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and Ireland.

The University is among just 323 such schools in the highly selective 2019 Fiske Guide to Colleges.

In its entry on Drew, the guide notes the school’s emphasis on hands-on learning, research and internships and its proximity to New York City. The entry also cites Drew’s six New York City semestersdual-degree programs and most popular majors, including political science, business, biology, theatre arts, international relations, neuroscience, English and psychology.

In addition, the guide quotes several students on the school’s faculty and campus life. Here’s a sample:

“Professors bring in experience and new perspectives and expect students to challenge themselves.”

“Drew students are a welcoming bunch. We like new people, we like new ideas and we like new ideals.”

“My favorite thing about Drew is that although people are politically and socially active, they are more interested in listening to what others have to say than in projecting their own opinions.”
