Cole Bosch C’21, G’22 and Vince Spina C’21, G’22 gain valuable hands-on experience
July 2022 – Students in Drew University’s Master of Finance (MFin) program have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills gained in the classroom through hands-on internships in the financial industry.

Caspersen School of Graduate Studies students Cole Bosch C’21, G’22 and Vince Spina C’21, G’22 are doing just that, both landing internships with private equity firms this summer.
“The Master of Science in Finance program at Drew has had success in mentoring early career students to develop finance enthusiasts in the liberal arts tradition,” said Assistant Teaching Professor of Finance and Director of the MFin program Steven Firestone.
Bosch accepted an internship as a private equity analyst at Finlay Parker Holdings in Morristown, New Jersey.
“All of the professors are super accommodating and really care about all of the students in the program,” said Bosch. “They provide many different opportunities and experiences that are extremely beneficial. It makes it very easy to learn and apply it to real world settings.”

Bosch chose to stay at Drew after completing his undergraduate business major and economics minor. “It provided me an opportunity to get a higher education degree at a school I was already accustomed to,” he said. “It also helps set me apart in the competitive and demanding job market.”
Spina, who majored in economics as a Drew undergrad, is an intern at Grail Partners in San Francisco this summer. He obtained the opportunity through networking and connections.
Spina was drawn to Drew’s MFin program because of the concentration in investment management.
“That focus gives a great mix of theory with modeling, which is an important skill,” he said. “Building on Excel skills in particular was one of my main goals and motivations for the program.”
