Suhail Majid C’23 Named Trepp Commercial Real Estate Future Leader

The alum is one of only 15 selected for the award

June 2023 – Drew University alum Suhail Majid C’23 has been named a Commercial Real Estate Future Leader by Trepp, a leading provider of data, insights, and technology solutions to the structured finance, commercial real estate (CRE), and banking markets.

Majid is one of only 15 undergraduate students selected for the award and only the second Drew student to win. Last year, Ben Dunlap C’22, now a derivatives analyst at MetLife Investments, became the first Drew student to win the competitive award.

The Trepp awards program showcases stand-out students who are looking to make impactful contributions to the CRE sector upon graduation.

A business major and economics minor, Majid participated in Drew’s New York Semester on Wall Street and London Semester, where he landed an internship with Eastwood Investment Group.

Associate Teaching Professor of Finance and Associate Chair of the Department of Business Steve Firestone, nominated Majid for the award.

“I had the opportunity to work with Suhail extensively this spring in the Wall Street Semester, where he also won the Heath McLendon Award for the student that best embodied the goals and spirit of the program,” said Firestone.

“Suhail was instantly a standout student in our class, able to engage in a wide variety of equity, fixed income, and other financial markets with ease and thoughtful analysis.”

“We have another impressive cohort of award-winning students this spring that embodies the qualities of up-and-coming professionals in the CRE industry  that will lead and bring innovation to the industry,” said Trepp’s Director of Academic and Industry Relations Erin Timko. “We look forward to following them on their career journeys and are here to support them along the way.”

Majid is due to join Stone Coast Financial as an investment service representative, a client forward role in the investor services department.
