Luis Enrique Lopez Rios is a finance major and economics minor. During his time at Drew, he helped re-launch The Fund, and served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Emeritus of the student-run investment portfolio. He was also President of the Drew Economics and Business Society, Vice President of the International Students Association, and took part in the New York Semester on Wall Street. At the 2024 CLA Awards, he was co-winner of the Finance Award. Earlier this semester, he was a finalist at the statewide UPitchNJ collegiate startup competition where he won the Best Early Stage Startup prize.
Where he’s headed: Lopez Rios is going to attend Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, pursuing a master’s in management on an MBA track.
Between Drew and Georgetown, Lopez Rios will be a Summer Investment Associate at the largest Mexican-American venture-capitalist fund, Santatera Capital, investing in startups that are driving change in the consumer packaged goods and food tech industries.
On his time at Drew: “Like any other school, you must be a go-getter to succeed. You must find the opportunities; they will never be handed to you on a silver platter. In my case, Drew professors, alumni, and the Wall Street Semester helped shape my college journey and prepared me well for graduate school and first-class jobs.”
