    • Note on-campus housing for start of program is included in program fee but will be billed separately

Widen your worldview by adventuring through Paris and Bordeaux as you absorb creative French culture while immersing yourself in writing and filmmaking history. Kick off the program with preparatory days on Drew’s campus before heading to France to practice your writing and filmmaking skills.

Food in Social Contexts

Inspired by the homeland of many iconic writers, including inventor of the essay, Michel de Montaigne, and their work, students will write about their experiences, ideas, curiosities, and connections to develop a collection of personal, creative writing.

Learn how to craft time-based stories with a camera. From the birth of cinema itself to the invention of visual effects and the ongoing influence of the French New Wave directors on contemporary filmmaking, France nurtures movie magic and is awaiting your unique contribution to film history!

Connect

Feed your creative practice by engaging with the written, spoken, and visual language of storytelling through essays, films, and daily cultural excursions. This interdisciplinary TREC is recommended for students interested in creative writing, art, film and media studies, philosophy, literature, and French culture!
