With their generous support of social entrepreneurship at Drew, Ann C’70 and David Ingram have ensured that generations of Drew students will carry their own passion for nonprofit work into the future.

Throughout their long and successful careers in banking and investments, and now in their retirement, Ann and David Ingram have devoted countless hours to nonprofit organizations whose missions they embrace with a particular passion. That’s why, when it came time to revise their estate plans and think about their legacy, the Ingrams chose to support, among a litany of other worthy causes, Drew’s New York Semester on Social Entrepreneurship.
The Ann C’70 and David Ingram Fund will establish an endowment to help finance the semester, and until the endowment is fully funded, the Ingrams will make annual gifts to help cover the semester’s operating costs. They’ve also named Drew a beneficiary of their estate.
For Ann Ingram, who took part in the London Semester and the Semester in Washington as a Drew undergrad, the decision to provide such a generous blended gift was sealed after she and David visited with President MaryAnn Baenninger on campus last fall and spoke with Professor Jennifer Olmsted, the director of the social entrepreneurship semester, along with several students who’d taken part in the program.
“They were bright. They were articulate. They were enthusiastic. They were committed,” Ann recalls of the students. “They were passionate about the projects they worked on.
And that said to us we made the right choice to support this program.”
