April 2019 – Dozens of Drew University students thanked the donors who help fund their studies during the annual Celebration of Benefactors luncheon.
Drew faculty and staffers also joined the donors and students at the lunch, which included remarks from Provost Debra Liebowitz and Drew Theological School Dean Javier Viera and an invocation from Master of Divinity candidate Peter Karanja.
Liebowitz, who’s also dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Caspersen School of Graduate Studies, noted that the students helped by donors represent all three of Drew’s schools. “We’re really proud of all of you and it’s really nice to have all of you who have supported Drew with your generosity and have you be able to see the impact of your dollars,” Liebowitz said.
During the meal, donors sat with students and asked them about their studies and future plans. It’s a true Drew tradition that personalizes giving and creates connections across generations. Afterward, many attendees took in the Day of Scholars, a showcase of student achievements. Here’s a closer look at the lunch.
