The PhD candidate is honored for her contribution to “Women Leading Movements for Positive Change”
October 2022 – Drew Theological School PhD candidate abby mohaupt is a recipient of a Women of Faith Award, sponsored by Racial Equity & Women’s Intercultural Ministries and Presbyterian Women, Inc.
This year’s theme for the annual award is “Women Leading Movements for Positive Change,” honoring recipients who have fostered change in their communities and within the church.
mohaupt, who is the director of education and training at Greenfaith, was nominated for her leadership as moderator of Fossil Free PCUSA (FFPCUSA), an advocacy organization working to end the Presbyterian Church’s relationship with fossil fuels.
“It’s a humbling honor to receive this award on behalf of the hundreds of people who have been organizing in the FFPCUSA for divestment from fossil fuels over the last 10 years,” said mohaupt.
“Our work is built on the shoulders of so many climate justice activists who have called us to be faithful. My research, activism, and faith leadership is indebted to so many.”
