Drew University Theological Librarian Dr. Jesse D. Mann Elected Chairperson of New York Area Theological Library Association

The association is comprised of 19 university and seminary libraries throughout the tri-state area

December 2022 – Drew University Theological Librarian Dr. Jesse D. Mann has been elected as chairperson of the New York Area Theological Library Association (NYATLA).

Formed in 1977, NYATLA is a group of 19 specialized member university and seminary libraries in the metropolitan New York area that support interlibrary cooperation in the field of religion and theology. Drew is one of four New Jersey-based member institutions.

As chairperson, Mann will serve a one-year term, which is renewable without term limits. In this role, Mann hopes to revise and update NYATLA’s constitution and bylaws, migrate the association’s website to a new platform, and reinvigorate the association with the ultimate goal of growing membership.

Mann also hopes to be able to resume the organization’s bi-annual meetings in an in-person format.

“I am very pleased to take on a leadership role in NYATLA,” said Mann. “This is an opportunity to develop new collaborations and deepen existing ones within our regional association. It is a privilege to work with a group of such dedicated and congenial professionals across the tri-state area.”

NYATLA is a regional division of the American Theological Library Association, a non-profit member organization committed to advancing the study of religion and theology.
