Alison Bevan P’24 and G. Sandy Diehl III P’20 join as parents of Drew grads
August 2024 – Drew University’s Board of Trustees has welcomed two new members, both parents of recent Drew graduates.
Alison Bevan P’24 and G. Sandy Diehl III P’20 have been elected to four-year terms on the University’s board.
“We are thrilled to welcome Alison and Sandy to the Board of Trustees,” said William W. Landis III C’85, chair of the Board of Trustees. “Both experienced Drew as parents of recent students and we look forward to collaborating closely with them and having their perspectives contribute to the University’s work.”
Trained at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Bevan began her career on stage in Broadway productions of City of Angels and Steel Pier, and as a principal artist at the New York City Opera at Lincoln Center. Inspired by a lack of available resources for families grappling with behavioral sleep problems, Bevan changed career paths and became a distinguished Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant and founder of Sleepytime Coach. Based in Norwalk, CT, she is currently Head of Pediatric Sleep Consulting at PM Pediatric Care and the staff sleep consultant at The Center For Advanced Pediatrics.
Bevan is married to Michael McCormick, an actor who has appeared in many Broadway productions, national tours, off-Broadway and regional theater, and television. Their son, Dylan McCormick C’24, graduated in May as a theatre arts major, concentrating in performance, and was a member of the Drew University Dramatic Society (DUDS) and president of 36 Madison Ave, one of Drew’s three a cappella groups.
Diehl, a graduate of Cornell University and Harvard Business School, is the CEO and Founder of SD Global Advisors. Diehl founded the company in 2012 after a 25-year career with United Technologies’ Otis Elevator business unit. His company advises its international portfolio of clients on strategies to increase their revenue by focusing on globalization, product strategy, and business development. He is an active board member/advisor of Victaulic, Wilkinson Hi-Rise, and Broad-Gauge, and previously served as a board member of the American Architectural Foundation of Labrador Technology and ACE Mentor.
Diehl is married to Cathy Diehl and has four children. Their son, Geoffrey Diehl C’20, majored in business at Drew and was a member of the men’s tennis team. He is now the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Drew.
