Students deliver pitches to alums, faculty, staff
December 2024 – Drew University held its fall 2024 Bear Den event, giving students the opportunity to pitch products, investments, and business ideas to industry experts including Drew alums, faculty, and staff.
Thirty two panelists participated in the event, which included more than 150 students from seven undergraduate courses, Cryptocurrency, Data Analytics and Marketing Measurement, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Investments, Principles of Finance, and Principles of Marketing.
Through immersive experiences like Bear Den, students are challenged to hone communication and presentation skills while applying course materials to their creative ideas.
“Preparing for Bear Den significantly boosted my confidence in public speaking,” said Benjamin Castro C’25, a marketing and business double major who presented in both the digital marketing and data analytics/marketing measurement sessions.
“The event provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with alumni I’ve met before and build new connections with others in my chosen industry. I received excellent feedback on both my marketing presentations, which will help me continue to grow and refine my skills.”
Following the presentations and feedback, students and panelists were able to connect in a lower-stakes networking opportunity.
