Praised for current and historical enrollment
December 2024 – Drew University has once again earned a top-20 spot in the Institute of International Education’s Open Doors annual report.
Drew ranked 16th among U.S. baccalaureate colleges for enrolling 391 international students in the 2023-24 academic year. Drew’s top three countries represented were China, South Korea, and India.
This marks the eighth time in the last 10 years that Drew has ranked in IIE’s top 20 for international student enrollment.
Drew also remained the highest ranked school in New Jersey, and the only one to make the report’s top 40.
“We are honored to be recognized for our vibrant and diverse international student community,” said Laura Arthur, executive director of INTO Drew University, which creates a direct enrollment pathway for prospective international students. “With a deeply supportive culture and roster of academic programs that attract talented students from across the world, we have built a lasting tradition of excellence that reflects not only our long history of welcoming international students to Drew, but also the remarkable achievements of those who choose to study here.”
In this year’s report, Drew received a special callout, the Open Doors 75 Seal of Excellence, for having reported international student enrollment numbers to the organization since it began collecting data in 1949—when Drew had 32 international students.
“We’re thrilled to once again be among the top schools for enrolling international students,” said Drew President Hilary L. Link, PhD. “For Drew to be recognized for its extensive history of recruiting, attracting, and welcoming a robust international student population is extremely gratifying. To see the numbers over the years increase tenfold truly speaks to Drew’s offerings, community, and global appeal.”
