Also named a top Northeast school, and ranked top 25 in theatre, inclusiveness categories
August 2025 – The Princeton Review has once again named Drew University to its annual guide of top colleges.
Drew has made the Best 391 Colleges list every year since its inception in 1992.
“The colleges we profile in our ‘Best Colleges’ book are a truly select group. They constitute only about 15 percent of America’s nearly 2,400 four-year institutions,” said Rob Franek C’93, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review, and a Drew alum and trustee.
In addition to the national ranking, Drew was named to The Princeton Review’s list of top Northeast schools in the guide’s region-by-region breakdown.
Drew also maintained its Top 25 status in the publication’s Best College Theater and Lots of Race/Class Interaction categories, ranking 23rd on both supplemental lists.
All of The Princeton Review’s rankings lists are based on surveys of students attending the school. An average of 435 students per school rate their colleges in dozens of topics and report their campus experiences.
“The colleges that make our ranking lists do so entirely as a result of their own students’ opinions of them,” said Franek. “We don’t rank colleges based on our opinion of them, nor would we crown a school ‘best’ overall. It is what the students attending the colleges in this book tell us about their experiences at their schools that determines on which lists the schools appear in our book. Our goal since day one on this project has been to provide multiple resources to help college applicants answer what is for most the toughest question in their journey to college, ‘Which college is best for me?'”
Earlier this year, The Princeton Review named Drew to its list of Best Value Colleges for the seventh consecutive year, touting Drew’s high Return on Investment ratings based on academics, affordability, and career preparation metrics.
