Leading the East Brunswick School District in New Jersey

October 2025 – Drew University Doctor of Letters (DLitt) alum Evelyn Mamman G’18 has been appointed superintendent of the East Brunswick School District in New Jersey, effective December 1, 2025.

An educator for more than 25 years, Mamman brings a deep commitment to student-centered leadership and a wealth of experience across multiple New Jersey districts. She currently serves as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in South Brunswick, New Jersey, a role she has held since 2021. Previously, she served as assistant superintendent in Tenafly, New Jersey, and worked in both the New Brunswick and Middletown school districts in New Jersey.

“I come here ready to listen, to learn, to lead,” said Mamman in a statement announcing her appointment. “You’ll find that I’m student-centered. I know the work is hard—so hard. What is facing East Brunswick is what’s facing almost every other district. I am up to the task, and I know that you’re here to support me, and I’m going to hold you to it.”

In addition to her DLitt, Mamman holds a master’s degree in English education from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in English education from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria.
