Transfer Student Jeremy Gould C’26 Finds His Community at Drew University

“The professors I have had the pleasure to learn from have been some of the most caring, understanding, and passionate individuals I have ever met”

November 2025 – For Jeremy Gould C’26, transferring to Drew University was an easy decision—and an even easier transition.

A sociology major with double minors in business and psychology, Gould transferred from Sussex County Community College and immediately found a sense of belonging at Drew. “The transfer process was truly so smooth thanks to the faculty and students here at Drew,” said Gould. “There was never a moment that I felt uneasy about the process itself.”

Outside of the classroom, Gould is the Vice President of the Sociology Club, Co-President of the Transfer Student Organization, and Senior Advisor of the Feminist Intersection Club. He is also a member of Alpha Kappa Delta, an international sociology honor society.

We caught up with Gould to learn more about his transfer experience and his advice for future Drew students. This is what he had to say.

Why Drew?
I landed at Drew due to an interview I had with Sunita Bhargava [Director, Transfer & Continuing Education]. The day we had our interview, I felt so comfortable and engaged. Sunita was genuinely interested and invested in my own success and what would be best for me.

Tell us about your time at Drew.
My time here at Drew has been so amazing, and I think my favorite part has been the connections I have made with my fellow transfer students in Haselton Hall, we have gotten so close over the last few semesters. I also have thoroughly enjoyed so many of my club events, especially my paint and sip events with the Feminist Intersection Club. Lastly, the professors I have had the pleasure to learn from have been some of the most caring, understanding, and passionate individuals I have ever met. They truly care about their students and it shows.

Any advice for future transfer students?
Make sure you attend club events and get engaged in the community. Building connections makes the process so much easier overall.

Plans for the future?
After I graduate, I would like to go right into the workforce. I hope to work in employee relations for a company on the East Coast. In anything I do, I want to make sure that I am happy and content in my decision and that I do not lose sight of the values that I have grown here at Drew.
