More than 140 Drew students will participate in the leadership skill building program
February 2026 – Drew University has been selected for a three-year grant with the National Society of Leadership Success (NSLS).

More than 140 Drew students will develop foundational leadership skills such as goal setting, communication, accountability, and collaboration through a series of opportunities including leadership development training, broadcasts from nationally-recognized speakers, and facilitated group discussions.
Within the program itself, students will be encouraged to step into leadership roles within Drew’s chapter, mentoring and training their peers.
The program is designed to help students translate their experiences both on campus and as part of NSLS into real-world skills that support personal growth and career readiness.
Participating students will be officially inducted into the NSLS and receive a certificate recognizing their achievement. In addition to this credential, students will gain access to scholarships, employer partnerships, leadership resources, and professional development opportunities through the organization’s national network.
The Drew NSLS chapter will be led by co-advisors Kim Giorgio, director of the Center for Career Development, and Casey Gonzalez, director of student engagement, who coordinated the effort to secure the NSLS grant and will oversee the implementation and ongoing management of the chapter.
“Our partnership intentionally bridges career development and student engagement, mirroring the kinds of collaborative, cross-functional relationships we hope students will build through their NSLS experience,” said Giorgio. “By working across departments, we are modeling the idea that leadership is strongest when it is rooted in connection, shared goals, and mutual support.”
“We are deeply focused on community building, leadership development, and sustainability, creating a space where students feel empowered to grow, lead, and thrive together,” added Gonzalez. “We believe that, just as in this partnership, we are stronger together—and that principle will be central to the student experience within NSLS.”
