Home to 2015 Nobel Prize Winner for Medicine
Drew’s RISE Associate Fellow Dr. William Campbell has guided and mentored students at Drew for more than 20 years, leaving lasting impressions. A former Merck scientist, he helped develop an anti-parasitic drug that the Nobel Prize committee recognized for treating River Blindness and Lymphatic Filariasis. Each year, he continues to lecture to honors science students at Drew.
Study abroad opportunities
Spend spring break studying marine biology in Belize, winter break focusing on health and human development in South Africa, summer looking at science and engineering in Korea—and more.

Real research. Real rewards.
At Drew, you can have the kinds of real-world lab research experiences that most students won’t get until attending graduate school or working in the professional world.
Under the direction of accomplished scientists, Drew students perform research, publish papers and win awards. Many then go on to careers with top employers or attend graduate school at prestigious universities.
What’s more, Drew’s prime location in America’s medicine cabinet means easier access to opportunities. Our region has one of the most extensive concentrations of corporate headquarters in the nation, including 14 of the world’s 20 largest pharmaceutical companies.
Pursue scientific questions
The Drew Summer Science Institute (DSSI) is an on-campus program that pairs Drew students with faculty mentors for an intensive, personal experience working full time on a research project. Each summer, approximately 15 students participate in this exciting program.
Collaborate on research
RISE, or the Research Institute of Scientists Emeriti, is the only program of its kind in the United States. It is led by star industry researchers who conduct state-of-the-art research in partnership with Drew students.

Broaden your knowledge
The Residential School on Medicinal Chemistry and Biology in Drug Discovery (ResMed) is designed for chemists and biologists who want to increase their understanding of the basic principles of drug discovery and early development.
