At Drew, all students are required to demonstrate proficiency through the intermediate level in one foreign language. A language placement examination must be taken before enrolling in the first language course at Drew. For more detailed information, please view this page in the online catalog.
The BYU Language exam is available for students seeking to demonstrate proficiency in a language not offered at Drew. Details on languages available and testing guidelines may be found here:

- Information you need to register
Students may also consider registering for an approved intermediate level course at another institution. Pre-approval is required: Pre-approval for transfer credit form
If you have additional questions for the Foreign Language Exemption Policy please contact [email protected].
Final Exam Reschedule Request
The final exam schedule is published on the Registrar’s website at the beginning of each semester. Changes do occur, so be certain to check for updates prior to the start of the final exam period.
To avoid potential conflicts, students are expected to schedule travel plans AFTER the final exam period.
When extenuating circumstances occur, students may submit a Final Exam Reschedule request for review by the Associate Provost (note that students may not negotiate a make-up date directly with the course instructor) if the following circumstances apply:
- Schedule conflicts, serious illness, religious observance, personal emergency.
- Three finals scheduled in one calendar day: one of the exams should be rescheduled at the convenience of the instructor and the student.
The deadline to submit Final Exam Reschedule requests is the LAST DAY of CLASSES for the term.
