Donating to the Drew Career Closet

The Career Closet inventory relies on the generosity of Drew alums, students, families, faculty, staff, and community partners, who contribute new and gently loved professional clothing items, such as suits, dress pants, dress skirts, dress shirts and blouses, neckties and bowties. Due to limited space, shoes will be accepted on a case-by-case basis only.

Donations may be brought directly to the Center for Career Development, Sycamore Cottage, Drew University, 36 Madison Avenue, Madison, NJ, and deposited in the designated bin located on the Cottage porch. Donors are required to complete a donation form, either in advance or at the time of their donation. Donated clothing will be sorted, examined for damage, and then made available to students. Rejected clothing items will be donated to local area clothing charities.

To schedule a donation, or for questions, please contact Gwen DeBenedetto at the Center for Career Development at  [email protected].

**PLEASE NOTE: THE CAREER CLOSET IS CURRENTLY AT CAPACITY FOR CLOTHING AND UNABLE TO ACCEPT ADDITIONAL CLOTHING DONATIONS AT THIS TIME.

WE ARE PLEASED TO OFFER TWO ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS TO OUR GENEROUS DONORS:

  • Clothing donations can be shared with our local partner, Dress for Success of Northern New Jersey, located in downtown Madison. Questions can be directed to Loraimy Kendall at dfsnorthernnj.org.
  • Monetary donations, which would be used to purchase additional clothing items as gaps in sizes and styles emerge, can be made electronically by visiting Drew’s Make a Gift page, and selecting to designate a gift towards a specific fund, then writing in the Center for Career Development.
