Drew First-Year Students Take In NYC

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum, dessert and food tours, famous neighborhoods and more!

September 2019 – Drew University first-year students explored New York City as part of their seminar courses.

The seminars develop key skills by exploring topics in courses like “Hogwarts, Houses and Horcruxes: The Psychology of Harry Potter” and “Four Out of Five Drew Students Recommend this Seminar: Evaluating Survey Research.” The trips into New York City allow students to learn more about the course content in a way that promotes critical thinking about a real-world experience.

The excursions also help familiarize students with the ease of getting into and around Manhattan from Drew (on a budget!), and promote a sense of bonding and community within each individual seminar and the first-year class as a whole.
