Drew University Welcomes Directors of Career Center, Institutional Research

Christopher Carbone and Nadine Hylton enter The Forest

April 2021 – Drew University has welcomed two new faces to The Forest: Christopher Carbone, director of the Career Center, and Nadine Hylton, director of Institutional Research.

“I came here to ensure that every employer understands that Drew University students have the experiences, skills, and network needed to be leaders in their industry,” said Carbone.

Prior to joining the Drew community, Carbone held positions in career development with several local institutions, most recently at Ocean County College. He is working to complete his doctoral degree in psychology from Duquesne University.

“Students can expect a passionate dedication to their success from the day they enter The Forest until the day they retire,” he said. “Our vocation is ensuring they discover, plan, and succeed in their chosen field. The Career Center is a students’ fast track to professional success.”

Hylton brings vital data analysis, mixed-methods research, and evaluation skills to Drew, which she honed in previously held positions at the University of Dayton, Nazareth College, and in the nonprofit and public health sectors. At Drew, she will provide data and analysis that empower University-wide decision-making. These efforts include research initiatives that are student-focused.

She noted that she chose Drew as much as Drew chose her, and for good reason.

“The faculty and staff at Drew remind me of those at institutions I attended. I saw how invested they are in ensuring their students succeed, regardless of how a student defines success,” she said.

Hylton earned her doctorate in education, with a concentration in policy and theory, from the University of Rochester.

“I’m pleased to welcome both Nadine and Chris to The Forest, and I thank the search committees—chaired by Scott Shappell and Stacy Fischer, respectively—who worked to bring them here” said Provost Jessica Lakin.

“Their leadership of these important institutional areas is critical at this time—both to further develop the infrastructure that leads to student success, and to help us tell these stories so that new generations of students can benefit from a Drew education.”
