“Drew prepared me for this role as it taught me the fundamentals of business in both my undergraduate and graduate studies”
July 2024 – Kyle Weeks C’23, G’24 was able to turn his internship at Bank of America into a full-time job offer.
During his internship, Weeks worked in a consumer-facing Bank of America branch, which was a stepping stone to landing a position as an associate with the investments division at Bank of America Private Bank. ”I was able to network and create connections that when combined with my degree, allowed me to make a massive step in my career,” said Weeks.
Weeks, a business major, took advantage of Drew’s Dual-Degree in Finance program at Drew’s Caspersen School of Graduate Studies, allowing him to earn his Master of Science in Finance (MFin) in just one additional year. He was also able to utilize an extra year of NCAA eligibility and continue his lacrosse career as a member of Drew’s Men’s Lacrosse team.
In his current position, he manages portfolios for high net worth clients within the bank. “As an associate I am responsible for performing analyst duties such as analyzing stocks or mutual funds as well as fixed income solutions to optimize returns for clients,” said Weeks. “Drew prepared me for this role as it taught me the fundamentals of business in both my undergraduate and graduate studies.”
“I am most grateful for how Drew was able to prepare me for how life is outside of the classroom and connect me with great alumni all over the nation.”
Weeks aspires to become a portfolio manager for Bank of America Private Bank. He plans to begin preparing for his CAIA and CFA certification exams. Drew is affiliated with the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program, which signals to potential employers and the marketplace that Drew’s curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well-suited to prepare students to sit for the CFA exams.
