New food provider, Grubhub ordering, Zaro’s Bakery
September 2024 – New food and new dining services mark the start of a new semester at Drew University.
Now run by Gourmet Dining, food at The Commons and the Ehinger Center has been overhauled.
The EC food court now includes Yella’s sandwiches, salads, burgers, and milkshakes; Lil’ Anthony’s Pizza; the Halal Shack’s Mediterranean gyros and falafels; and York Street Market’s grain bowls, sandwiches, parfait bowls, and desserts.
In addition to new food, over the next year The Commons will be updated with a fresh look, including a teaching kitchen and a further enhanced allergen zone.
This semester also features a new coffee shop and bakery in Brothers College—Zaro’s Family Bakery. Drew is the first campus location for Zaro’s, a fourth-generation bakery famous for their many locations in the New York City metro area, including many transit hubs.
All of Drew’s dining services are now on the Grubhub app, allowing the Drew community to order ahead, check-in, see daily menu options, and use either meal plans or credit cards to pay. Users simply open the app and activate Campus Dining for Drew University to get started. Those without the app are able to order at a station or at a kiosk.
“With a new food provider, including Zaro’s, and the convenience of Grubhub ordering, we have transformed the dining experience at Drew,” said Frank Merckx, Vice President for Enrollment Management & Campus Life. “The current dining options were instituted after working with nationally-known dining consultants Porter Khouw Consulting (PKC), who meet with students and other campus members to help guide us in building the program. We will continue to listen to student feedback as we strive to continually improve our campus offerings.”
