About the Sequence
Sequence #1 is designed for students who plan on applying to medical school and other relevant programs at the end of their third year for matriculation in the Fall after graduating from Drew.
Year 1
FALL
- BIOL 150: Ecology and Evolution or NEUR 101: Introduction to Neuroscience
- CHEM 150: Principles of Chemistry I or CHEM 151
- PSYC 101: Introduction to Psychology or SOC 101: Introduction to Sociology
- DSEM: Drew Seminar (can be counted as a writing/English course)
SPRING
- BIOL 160: Diversity of Life
- CHEM 160: Principles of Chemistry II or CHEM 161
- PSYC 101: Introduction to Psychology or SOC 101: Introduction to Sociology or STAT 207: Introductory Statistics (formerly MATH 117)
Year 2
FALL
- BIOL 250: Molecular and Cellular Biology
- CHEM 250: Organic Chemistry I
- PHIL/REL 305: Bio-Medical Ethics (recommended)
- PSYC 101: Introduction to Psychology or SOC 101: Introduction to Sociology or STAT 207: Introductory Statistics
SPRING

- BIOL 252: Microbiology (recommended)

SPRING
- MATH 151: Calculus and Analytic Geometry II (if taking PHYS 160)
- PHYS 112: Intro to Physics II or PHYS 160: University Physics II, PSYC 101, SOC 101 or STAT 207
NOTES
- To be successful on the MCAT, PSYC 101, SOC 101, and STAT 207 all need to be completed by the end of the third/junior year.
- STAT 207 may not be necessary for those majoring in heavily quantitative areas such as Chemistry, Mathematics, and/or Physics.
- BIOL 252, BIOL 256, and BIOL 258 are recommended, but not required, for the MCAT. BIOL 250 is a prerequisite for these courses.
