The fall semester kicks off with a strong enrollment
September 2022 – Drew University’s Caspersen School of Graduate Studies is pleased to welcome the fall students in all areas of study.
The school offers master’s programs in Art & Letters, Data Analytics, Finance, History & Culture, Medical & Health Humanities, and Teacher Education. Doctoral degrees are offered in Arts & Letters and Medical & Health Humanities.
In addition, several certificate programs are available, including the increasingly popular Conflict Resolution & Leadership. All certificate programs can be applied to or taken in conjunction with a degree program.
The incoming class is predominately from New Jersey and surrounding states within a commutable distance from the campus. Residency options are also available to students.
“Caspersen is touting increased interest from students in the New York metropolitan area as we continue to provide an array of distinctive and flexible advanced degree programs that best fits the professional goals of our students,” said Kevin Miller, executive director of graduate admissions.

Several programs are now offering online solutions, including the low-residency Medical & Health Humanities program, affording students the opportunity to study at Drew throughout the U.S. and the world. In all, the incoming class represents nine states and 11 countries.
The demands of today’s job market and climate are reflected in the University’s programs, resulting in an emphasis and growth of the Data Analytics and Medical & Health Humanities programs.
Drew’s Data Analytics program focuses on statistics, data science, and programming, as well as applied data analytics projects and internship opportunities across many different disciplines and industries. Students complete the program with a portfolio of data analytics projects highlighting the practical application of acquired skills through internships and case study projects.

Created nearly three decades ago, Drew’s interdisciplinary and flexible Medical & Health Humanities program is a first of its kind and continues to innovate to meet the growing need for advanced training in health humanities, care ethics, health policy, contemplative care, and narrative medicine.
“Our Medical & Health Humanities Program is always in motion,” said Merel Visse, associate professor and director of the Medical & Health Humanities program. “A few weeks ago, we started welcoming students for a six-day residential intensive in The Forest, combined with online coursework throughout the semester. It was lovely to meet my students on campus—some of them from Florida and Canada.”
“Among our students are care professionals and leaders, and they need courage, creativity, and criticality to engage with everyday challenges and opportunities. This is built into how we do things in our program. We offer interdisciplinary courses that demand out-of-the-box thinking on real-world issues and cases. We have remote modes of learning that promote adaptability and innovation among students, staff, and faculty. Ultimately, our community is all about care and social justice—no matter where we are.”
Drew will host a virtual Open House for prospective students on October 19.
