Globetrotting, researching and teaching at Drew University
September 2019 – Over the summer, Drew University students took advantage of myriad immersive experiences on and off campus. Check out the gallery below for a look at the action (and refresh the page to jumble the tiles!).
[modula id=”14649″]- Summer shortTRECs and theoTRECs around the globe included trips to Australia, Greece, Martinique and Puerto Rico, Appalachia, Canada, Russia, Ireland, Italy, South Africa, Spain and New York City.
- The Drew women’s soccer team went on a 13-day tour of Europe, with stops in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy and France. The team attended the World Cup and played in three international friendlies.
- Some Drew science students stayed local, conducting research with the Drew Summer Science Institute (DSSI) and Research Institute for Scientists Emeriti (RISE). Read what students had to say about their experiences (one even had his research go viral).
- Drew theatre students and professors led AdvantageArts, which immerses Newark high school students in a month-long intensive program.
- Drew students took the reins in the S.T.E.A.M. program, teaching science, tech, engineering, art and math skills to kids in grades three through eight.
- The Summer College program brought high school students to campus for a week to get a taste of the college experience by learning from and talking with Drew students.
- Drew hosted the New Jersey Governor’s School in the Sciences, a three-week residential program where students are immersed in intense college-level research on campus.
