“Drew’s MFin program curriculum is tailored to meet the demands of the industry”
February 2024 – Meghan Sharkey G’23 recently graduated from Drew University’s Caspersen School of Graduate Studies with a Master of Finance (MFin) degree and has promptly landed a position at Ernst & Young as an audit staff accountant in their Financial Services organization.
Sharkey credits Drew’s distinguished faculty and progressive curriculum in providing her with the edge she needed to break out in the competitive world of finance. “Drew’s MFin program curriculum is tailored to meet the demands of the industry, and it helped equip me with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in my chosen field,” she said.
“The best part of my experience at Drew was developing strong relationships with my professors,” said Sharkey. “The professors have made such a significant impact on me and all the students within the program. They truly make it their priority to share their knowledge and expertise on the industry.”
Drew’s academic excellence, renowned faculty, and comprehensive curriculum also solidified Sharkey’s decision to come to Drew to earn her MFin. “I was looking to gain more insight into the finance industry with the hopes of expanding future career opportunities and developing personal skills,” she said. “Drew’s MFin program aligned perfectly with my goals as it has a strong emphasis on real-world applications and practical industry skills.”

A soccer athlete, Sharkey was able to gain an extra year of eligibility due to Covid, enabling her to also join Drew’s Women’s Soccer team. “It was great to not only obtain my master’s degree but also having the opportunity to play my final season of soccer with my former club soccer coach Christa Racine [Director of Athletics and Women’s Soccer Head Coach].
