Eleven faculty were recognized ahead of the 2024-25 academic year
June 2024 – Drew University has recently promoted 11 members of its faculty and recognized three long-time professors with emeritus/emerita status.
James Carter has been promoted to Professor of History. Carter has been at Drew since 2008 and received his PhD from the University of Houston.
Alex de Voogt has been promoted to Professor of Business. De Voogt has been at Drew since 2017 and received two PhDs from Leiden University and his MBA from Rotterdam School of Management.
Shakti Jaising has been promoted to Professor of English. Jaising has been at Drew since 2011 and received her PhD from Rutgers and MFA from Temple University.
G. Scott Morgan has been promoted to Professor of Psychology. Morgan has been at Drew since 2011 and earned his PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Kimani Fowlin has been promoted to Associate Professor of Theatre & Dance and received tenure. Fowlin has been at Drew since 2014 and earned her MFA from the University of Milwaukee-Wisconsin.
Yi Lu has been promoted to Associate Professor of Math and Computer Science. Lu has been at Drew since 2017 and earned her PhD and MS from The Ohio State University.
Rory Mulligan, Associate Teaching Professor of Art; Nancy Vitalone-Raccaro, Teaching Professor of Teacher Education; Katherine Brown, Teaching Professor of Language and Culture; Meredith Hoxie Schol, Associate Teaching Professor of Religious Education and Leadership; and Tanya Linn Bennett, Teaching Professor of Public Theology and Vocation; have all received non-tenure track promotions as well.
In addition to these promotions, three professors have been granted emeritus/emerita status, Frances Bernstein (History), Lisa Lynch (Media and Communications), and Steve Surace (Mathematics).
