Looking for ways to connect with your team and other Drew staff members? As a Drew employee, you qualify to take a day off each year to participate in community service. The Drew Staff Association’s Community Service Committee encourages you to take advantage of this opportunity!
To help get you started, we’ve listed a few local organizations that accept groups to volunteer.
Morris Habitat for Humanity
Morris Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that builds and rehabilitates houses in partnership with families in need. All are welcome – no special skills are needed. Builds are scheduled Monday through Saturday and a typical work day runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. To register your group, send this form to [email protected]. America's Grow a Row
America’s Grow a Row delivers over 2 million pounds of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables to neighbors in need. Volunteering with America’s Grow-a-Row is a fun, rewarding team-building experience. Your group’s hard work on the farm directly impacts people struggling with food insecurity. Sign your group up here .
Hillside Food Bank
CBFNJ (Community FOODBANK of New Jersey) volunteer program offers individuals, families, and groups of many sizes a meaningful experience to make a direct impact on hunger in a positive and safe environment. Volunteers will assemble emergency food boxes or other necessary items to be distributed to partner agencies and members of the community Groups can sign up here .
Grow It Green
Grow It Green Morristown creates sustainable farms and gardens, and educates communities on healthy eating and environmental stewardship. The majority of the produce grown at the Urban Farm is donated to local charities and directly to families in need To sign up a small group of 4 volunteers, click here .
Eva's Kitchen
Eva’s Village is a nonprofit, comprehensive behavioral health, and social service nonprofit organization with a mission to provide care and support for people struggling with poverty, hunger, homelessness, and addiction. Volunteers who help serve the meals are an essential ingredient in the Community Kitchen. To sign up your group, you can visit this link.
Interfaith Food Pantry Network
For over 25 years, the Interfaith Food Pantry Network has been a leader in the fight against hunger throughout Morris County. They have many on-staff and intermittent opportunities that need volunteers. nourish.NJ
nourish.NJ provides immediate access to healthy food as the first step toward a stable future. As a center of support, we connect our neighbors to essential community resources and provide direct services to address the root causes of hunger. Volunteers will need to attend a quick and easy orientation. More volunteer opportunity and sign up information can be found on their How to Help section of the website.
nourish.NJ also accepts donations and has an Amazon wishlist for current needs listed on their How to Help webpage.
