September 2022 – Washington Monthly has named Drew University in the top 100 liberal arts colleges in the country in their 2022 rankings.
Drew jumped into the top 100 after being ranked 107th in 2021. Drew is the only school in New Jersey to make the top 100. The full rankings can be found here.
In their unique methodology, Washington Monthly ranked schools “based on what they do for the country.” Rankings were measured “based on [schools’] contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research, and promoting public service.”
Drew earned particularly high marks in Washington Monthly‘s community and national service metric, ranking 59th in the country. Several factors contribute to the metric including federal work-study grant money spent on community service projects, voting engagement data, and the percentage of degrees awarded in disciplines that often lead to jobs in the health, education, and social work fields.
Last month, The Princeton Review named Drew to their annual list of best colleges in the country. Drew earned top 10 marks in the publication’s Best College Theater category and 21st in for Lots of Race/Class Interaction.
